For those of you interested in cohousing, here is an update on new opportunities and services to get cohousing communities started. --Lynn From: Joelyn Malone [mailto:JKMalone [at] comcast.net] Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 10:53 AM We at Cohousing Advocates, Joelyn Malone and Phil Stevenson, are holding our first information sessions to introduce our new professional cohousing business this month. Our "quick-start" model is a new wrinkle in cohousing development. We will be presenting information about sites we've been researching that could be available for cohousing move-in within as short a time as 6 months to 1-2 years. This is a pretty unique opportunity we have discovered because of the down-turn in the housing market, and will only be available as long as other condo and multi-family sales are extremely slow, as they are now. Here are the Introductory Meetings scheduled so far: Saturday April 14th: 10:00 AM - Noon Twin Cities Friend's Meeting House 1725 Grand Avenue St. Paul, MN Wednesday April 25th: 7:00 - 9:00PM Lake Harriet Spiritual Community 4401 Upton Avenue South Minneapolis, MN We are really excited to have found this gold mine of potential cohousing sites. Some already have financing for affordable housing as part of the package they can offer. At our Introductory Meetings, you can meet other people interested in cohousing, share your ideas, see photos, and hear about Cohousing Advocates' services. If one of the sites in our (growing) portfolio doesn't appeal to you, we're also available to work with your own cohousing group and its particular vision. See www.cohousingadvocates.com <http://www.cohousingadvocates.com> for more information. (We have a questionnaire for interested people to fill out at our web site, but we're having technical difficulties with the form so check back later if that's how you want to reach us.) To all of you and especially those who were excited about the possibilities at Island Park I'd really love to be in contact with you again about this new opportunity. If you can't make it to one of these meetings, contact me at 952-926-8554 or the above email address -- I'd love to talk more with you and anybody you know who is seriously interested in making a move to cohousing, from the Twin Cities or surrounding region.
