Directions: 2908 37th Ave. S. is one block north of Lake St., one block south of Brackett Park, in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. If you take public transportation, the 21 bus will drop you off at Lake St. and 36th Ave. S., less than two blocks away; you can also transfer to this bus just outside the Lake St. light rail station. If you drive on I-94, it's easiest to take the Cretin/Vandalia exit, turn south on Cretin, then turn right at the first stoplight (Marshall, which becomes Lake St. once you go over the bridge), and turn right onto 37th Ave. #2908 is a white house with a porch, on your left, the third house south of the corner with 29th St. The phone number is 612-721-4918. A reminder about the cause: PeaceJam is a great organization devoted to developing the next generation of peacemakers. PeaceJam activities are grounded in four commitments for peace: peace within, peacemaking skills, social justice, and civic dialogue. In March, Rigoberta Menchu Tum will come to the PeaceJam event in St. Paul, which will focus on the theme she chose, ³Healing Communities Torn by Racism and Violence.² It¹s very exciting work, and so far it has all been done by volunteers. Funds raised from the silent auction will provide scholarships for young people who might not otherwise be able to participate and will help cover the costs of the next Day of Peace at Red Wing Correctional Facility.
